This is Our Story

Twins for Hope is a Canadian based initiative, focused on assisting children and families in need in Vietnam.

Twins for Hope was created in 2016 in honor of Binh and Phuoc Wagner, two little Vietnamese twin girls adopted by a Canadian family in 2012. Both twins captured the world’s attention in 2015 when the family made a public appeal as both girls needed a life-saving liver transplant, due to a genetic condition known as Alagille syndrome. Over 600 people from all over the world contacted the Living Liver Donor Program at Toronto General Hospital and volunteered to save the twins.

The adoptive father of the twins, Michael Wagner, was found to be a match and donated a piece of his liver to Phuoc. Binh received her precious gift from Kris Chung, whose desire at first was to remain anonymous.

Kris and the family met a year later. Coming to the realization that both of them shared many common views and values, Kris and Johanne Wagner, the mother of the twins together created Twins for Hope.
